Градске библиотеке „Владислав Петковић Дис” у Чачку покушао да прикаже
реално стање у школским библиотекама на територији Моравичког округа. Праћени су подаци о броју ђака, простору који користе библиотеке, књижном фонду и кадровима у 44 основне и средње школе.

SCHOOL LIBRARIES IN MORAVICA DISTRICT – STANDARDS AND PRACTICE
Summary: The Register of Libraries of Serbia also includes primary as well as middle school libraries of Moravica District. As per data collected by the Public Library „Vladislav Petkovich Dis“ – Mother Department the pupil population comprehend 27,824 persons. The school libraries cover total 1669 square meters of space and they accommodate 272,994 volumes of books. The figure, however, does not reflect the real situation which is alarming in some schools. Many of schools do not have available library space and half of them are lacking reading rooms. The book stock of schools is burdened with out-of-date and worn out copies which are not dispensed with and the only reason being that number of copies provides post for one or two librarians. That is to say the schools always engage teachers who are technological excess or do not have sufficient number of lessons in the teaching process. Lacking guaranteed funds for purchase of new volumes, in inferior position in relation to the teaching personnel, the school librarians have no incentive nor will to fight for the purchase of books and a better position of the library. By the analysis of the conditions in the school libraries of Moravica District the author wants to call again the attention to the numerous problems in this area with the intention they to be overcome as soon as possible.
